Our Mission
"Partner with parents to educate & disciple students from a Biblical worldview."
Thank you for your interest in Umpqua Valley Christian School (UVC). UVC is committed to partnering with you in your God-given responsibility to train your children to develop a Christ-like character through academic, spiritual and physical training.
As we depend upon God’s grace, UVC strives to accomplish this considerable task by offering students in grades pre-school through twelfth grade, a vibrant Christ-centered education that presents each subject from a distinctly Biblical worldview.
UVC is fully accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC). We are a member school of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and a member of the Oregon Schools Activities Association (OSAA). We provide an outstanding academic education and consistently compete at the highest levels of athletics.
Our Philosophy
We are a discipleship school, committed to educating and training students from a Biblical worldview.
We are a school which will help students grow and mature spiritually, academically, emotionally, and physically.
We take a scripturally balanced approach to educating and training students in a culture that is increasingly hostile towards the ideas of discipline and accountability.
WE BELIEVE:
All students can learn and should be taught in accordance with their specific learning abilities and their specific learning styles.
Each student is valued as an individual with unique intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Character building through the learning process is the chief priority of the school.
Teachers, staff, administrators, board, parents, students and community members share in the responsibility for providing a supportive environment within the school.
Students learn in a variety of ways and the school is responsible for providing a variety of instructional approaches to encourage their individual learning.
Assessments of student learning should reflect the variety of learning styles and, therefore, the school should include a variety of opportunities to demonstrate the learning achievements of its students.
Success in education is, in part, determined by informed, biblically moral, healthy, student involvement in local community service.
The commitment to continual improvement with a spirit of excellence is imperative if the school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners who serve in their local communities.
The commitment to the use and training in the area of technology is critical for the student of the 21st century.
The goal of education is to develop students who care for the needs of their fellow man and have been equipped by the school to physically do so.
Education encompasses a global perspective that enlightens each student to the vast natural resources of God’s earth and the extreme variety of peoples and cultures who populate it, recognizing the ingenious creativity of the Creator in the learning process.
