Teacher- 4th Grade

Mrs.Johnson has been teaching 4th grade at Umpqua Valley Christian School since 2012. She loves building rapport with the students; getting to know them and the way they learn best. She loves when a student has an AHA moment and especially loves teaching about our faith and how it is intertwined throughout everything we learn at UVC.
She got a Bachelors degree in history at Oregon State and then received her Masters in Teaching from Pacific University. She started as a substitute teacher before taking time to raise her girls and then began teaching at UVC.

Mrs.Johnson and her family enjoy traveling together and attend Redeemers Fellowship. She also loves learning things from history. One of her favorite life experiences was spending 6 weeks in Rome, Italy learning about the culture, the architecture, and the history. My favorite part of the trip was spending time outside the city walls walking the Via Appia Antica (Appian Way.) She took the trip alone to walk on this ancient road reflecting on how many people throughout history had walked on that road over the centuries. Mrs.Johnson also enjoys spending time with family and doing photography in her free time.
